Kristin Fitchpatric, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, demonstrates a deep commitment to improving the health of residents within the community. Being a first-hand witness to inequities in the healthcare system in Tennessee, she has made it a priority to highlight the needs of the community throughout her career. The best-selling author courageously speaks on topics such as racism in healthcare, implicit bias, and gaps in healthcare access. Dr. Fitchpatric has been recognized for her outstanding service on the local and state level. She has served as a subject matter expert for the American Nurse Association's National Commission to Address Racism in Nursing, and featured by nationally recognized organizations such as PreCheck.

Her awareness of the inequities that exist within communities around the country and within the profession continue to be the driving forces behind the work that she consistently does. Her professional experience as a Nurse Practitioner includes work in a variety of settings such as forensics for The State of Tennessee, mental health within The Tennessee Department of Corrections, outpatient psychiatry and addiction treatment. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice with a concentration in Psychiatric Mental Health from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, along with a Bachelor's of Science from Union University. She remains active within a number of professional organizations including Chi Eta Phi, and ANA.
