Kimesha Grant, MPH, BSN, RN, CPHQ is a Doctor of Nurse Practice (DNP) student at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. Her overarching goal is to support the implementation of mental health and substance use disorders into primary care, especially among underserved populations. In addition, she is interested in examining the role of mental health disorders and how they influence the outcomes of other chronic comorbidities. Ms. Grant understands that to have sustainable health improvement for all populations, interventions will require a health equity lens with a key focus on social determinants of health. To that end, she is committed to reducing health disparities across the mental health spectrum through clinical care, education, and implementation of science research.
Ms. Grant obtained a bachelor s degree in Biology and Neuroscience from the Harriet Wilkes Honors College at Florida Atlantic University, a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Emory University, and an MPH in Global Health Epidemiology from George Washington University. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the American Nurses Association, and the American Public Health Association.
